Build the Foundation ‘Buck a Block’ Fall ‘25 Campaign

Did you build roads, towers, and cities with wooden blocks as a child? How about your children and grandchildren?

ASAP’s fall campaign aims to fund 200 sets of 100 handmade, wooden blocks which preschools can “earn to own”. Blocks are the most important resource in a preschool, according to Maria Neinaber, who directs the Young Children Program for ASAP’s NGO partner PEN. “These sets are GOLDEN but too heavy and cumbersome to borrow-- schools must just own them!”

Every donated dollar purchases one block; $100 purchases an entire set. The September 6th ASAP Yard Sale was the “starting block” for a race to raise $20,000 at “a buck a block” by December 31, 2025.

How can preschools get a block set? Owners earn points by improving their teaching, settings, and administration. Points also build as they attend weekly curriculum planning sessions and monthly workshops. ASAP fosters initiative and competence, not handouts. Owners are eager to earn block sets!

Wooden blocks last forever as do the skills children gain while playing with them. Thank you for helping build the foundation and future of 11,629 children at 231 preschools, in 3 provinces!
